Frequently Asked Questions:
1.) What should I do when I first see water damage?
Call DryPros Restoration immediately at (844) My-DryPros or (844) 693-7977 so the damage can be minimized reducing the overall cost for you and/ or your insurance carrier.
2.) What type of water is this? Is this water dangerous
Each water damage is a unique situation. Here are the categories of water intrusion:
Category 1 Water: This water is clean at the releasing source and does not pose a hazard if consumed by humans. Category 1 Water may become progressively contaminated as it mixes with soils from floor coverings or building assemblies (walls, decking, and subflooring). Time and temperature, which promote the growth and amplification of microorganisms in water, can cause Category 1 Water to degrade. Examples: burst water pipes, failed supply lines on appliances, sink and bathtub over flows.
Category 2 Water: This water that has some degree of contamination and could cause sickness or discomfort if consumed by humans. Category 2 Water is known as Grey Water and is contaminated. As with Category 1 Water, time and temperature can cause Category 2 Water to become progressively more contaminated. Examples: Discharge from dishwasher or washing machine, overflow of toilet, water seepage from hydrostatic failures.
Category 3 Water: This water is highly contaminated and could cause serious illness or death if consumed by humans. Category 3 Water is referred to as Black Water. Examples: sewage, rising flood water from rivers and streams.

3.) How long will it take to dry out my home?
The length of time it takes to dry out a home or room varies from job to job. In perfect conditions the industry standard is three days. In some cases, depending upon circumstances, it can take up to several days for a complete dry out. DryPros Restoration will determine when the property is complete by monitoring the moisture content in the affected materials.
4.) Will my insurance pay for the water damage?
Most of the time water losses are covered by homeowners insurance. That isn’t to say it’s a guarantee that your insurer will pay for the cost of our services, but 9 out of 10 times we are able to get a successful claim for our customers. Call us if you’d like to discuss the particulars of your situation and we can help you better assess the best path forward.
5.) How much do you charge for remediation?
Each job is a customized bid depending on how much water there is and what type of material your home has. DryPros Restoration uses an industry standard nilling program called Xactimate, the program that most insurance carriers utilize for property damage.
6.) What areas do you service?
Our service area is most of Los Angeles County, all of Orange County, and some of Riverside county. Call us to find out if you're within our service area!
7.) Water has been in my home or business for a really long time! Can you still help?
Yes, all of our technicians are trained in Water Damage Technician Certification with some having the Applied Microbial Remediation Certification, so we could help you no matter how long there has been water standing in your home or business.
8.) My home smells bad, why is that?
With any type of water damage unusual odors are to be expected. Often the carpet and other wet items can cause odors due to high humidity levels in the affected area. The quicker the remediation process starts and unsalvageable materials are removed, the faster smells will disappear.
9.) Will my carpets and flooring need to be replaced?
Hopefully not, but that will ultimately be determined by what type of water caused the loss and what kind of material that water affected. Generally speaking though, it's more cost effective for everyone to try and dry-out your structure in a non-intrusive way than it is to remove and replace the affected material. So we, like you, want to keep your existing surfaces intact and dry them whenever possible!
